Brew Your Wealth: A Financial Literacy Workshop for Kauyagan Savers Multipurpose Cooperative
Varacco Inc., a coffee social enterprise, empowered 14 coffee farmers in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon, to manage their finances and invest in their future. The farmers, five women and nine men, participated in a workshop on Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy, titled “Brew Your Wealth”, on November 24, 2023 at the Kaanib Foundation, Sta. Ana, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. The workshop was organized by
Varacco Inc. with the support of the US Embassy and the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI).
The workshop taught the farmers how to create a personal savings and investment plan, a financial ledger, and open a savings account with the Kauyagan Savers Multipurpose Cooperative (KSMPC). The workshop also received support from Hon. Mai Okinlay, the first councilor of Impasug-ong. She thanked the organizers and encouraged the farmers to learn about financial literacy and its role in enhancing the productivity of coffee farming. The workshop was a success, as the
farmers expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for the opportunity to improve their financial situation and achieve their goals.
